APGA Governorship Aspirant Projects 5-Point Agenda For Enugu State

APGA Governorship Aspirant Projects 5-Point Agenda For Enug

A governorship aspirant under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Reverend Donatus Obi-Ozoemena, has put forward a 5-point agenda to fix and reposition Enugu State for greater socio-economic growth.

Obi-Ozoemena officially declared his interest to run for governorship of Enugu State on Friday while addressing journalists after he led his supporters to visit the APGA State Office in Enugu.

It would be recalled that the aspirant had already purchased APGA Governor Form for the 2023 gubernatorial primary election at the party’s headquarters in Abuja on April 4.

Obi-Ozoemena assured that his administration would focus majorly on insecurity, unemployment, infrastructural deficit, poor access to water and eradication of bad governance.

According to him, these five challenges will be a thing of the past, when I am elected as the governor of the state and I will run a truly inclusive administration as well.

He noted that if given the opportunity, he would make Enugu State become a better state ahead of other states in the country, adding that the past and present administrations had failed to provide needed good governance to the citizens.

The aspirant disclosed that his coming back from the United States of America was to make Enugu State a better home for everyone, pointing out that the state was blessed with enormous untapped talents.

“I am here to declare my candidacy to run for governorship of Enugu State. I am a member of APGA and I am capable and ready to lead Enugu State to the promised Land.

“One thing I want to let you know is that God is with us  and it is God that sent me on this mission;  to come and rescue my state and I know that with joint efforts what we can do with God is immeasurable.

“He (God) will catapult Enugu State to the promised land. Enugu (Enugu State) signifies something important to God.

“Enugu (translated mountain) if you recall; you will see that all the great men and women of God approach God on the mountain.

“Now you know why Enugu is important. It is the dwelling place of God. I believe and am really convinced that with God we will surely smile again in the name of Jesus,” he said.

Responding, the State Chairman of APGA, Chief Ndubisi Elechi-Onyia, appreciated Obi-Ozoemena for deciding to join the governorship race in Enugu State on the great platform of APGA.

Elechi-Onyia regretted that APGA had been denied power in Enugu State for over 23 years, noting that “now is the time for the party to take over and rebuild Enugu State for everyone”.

He said, “We have tried for 23 years and it is not working. So, something has to be done and that thing is that somebody else has to try, and that somebody has to be from APGA.

“If you look at what we have done in Anambra State, you would see that we have done better than what is happening here (Enugu State).

“So, APGA is poised to take over and solve the many developmental challenges that we have here in Enugu State,” he said.
