Zanku Records CEO Zlatan Ibile recently spoke about the pressure to succeed on music charts.
In an interview on the Afrobeats podcast with Adesope Olajide, the Nigerian rapper likened the music chart to a report card.
He described how checking the charts has become a daily routine for him and many other artistes, stating that they go on Apple Music to see where their songs are ranked.
He also acknowledged the added stress this puts on artists,
“Chart is like report card now. Every artiste that wakes up in the morning, most of us before we pray, we will go to Apple Music.
“Before the next day, we’ll go to the chart to see where it (song) will be the next day.
“It has become a whole stress,” he said.
