'Aquaman' 2: How Amber Heard's Return Could Spell Doom For S

Amber Heard reprising the role of Mera in Aquaman 2 could spell doom for the film as fans are planning to boycott the upcoming James Wan film when it is released next year.

Officially titled Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the movie is one of 2022's most anticipated blockbusters but it may never reach its projected heights if recent comments by fans are any indication.

For the unaware, actress Amber Heard was embroiled in a libel case last year that dragged on to this year. She called her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, a wife-beater; something the Pirates of the Caribbean star didn't take lightly and he fought to clear his name.

Despite several testimonies indicating that Heard may have been the one who physically assaulted Depp, the actress won the case and fans were livid with the judge's decision.

Now, some of those fans have expressed their intention to boycott Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom following the recent confirmation that Heard is officially back to play Mera, the love interest of the King of Atlantis in the sequel.

The aggrieved individuals shared their thoughts on Twitter, with one of them writing: "When I tell y’all Fuck Warner Brothers and every person related to the Making of Aquaman. We’re gonna boycott this movie so fucking hard and I’ll smile the highest when they realize how hard they fucked up.”

A second commented: "And that is why Warner Bros is over. The people know the truth and they demand #JusticeForJohnnyDepp. The best way to get it: boycott Fantastic Beasts 3 and Aquaman 1+2. The industry needs clear messages sent by the ticket buyers – who just don’t show up any longer.”

A third declared: "@warnerbros I don’t understand how you can not see the amount of people planning to boycott Aquaman 2 because you won’t replace a despicable abusive person. I don’t care how nice her boobs are, #FireAmberHeard !”
