Arm Yourselves With PVCs To Give Opposition Crushing Defeat - Yahaya

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has called on the people of the region to get their voter's cards and defeat the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming general elections.

The governor made the call on Wednesday at the APC square in the state's metropolis.

While addressing the mammoth crowd at the APC Square, the governor said the APC administration at both state and national levels, has performed unprecedentedly.

He noted that the party has performed well in the areas of infrastructure, education, agriculture, security and other critical sectors that will boost the economy and provide sustainable development.

As contained in a statement signed by the spokesperson to the governor, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the governor added that his administration has performed well in expanding the social and economic frontiers of the State.

He noted that he has exploited the state's comparative advantage and competitiveness, thereby putting it on the track of sustainable growth.  

"Our administration has made its presence felt at across the state through the provision of basic amenities such as functional healthcare facilities across all the 114 political wards of the state, educational infrastructures, roads network, portable water, amongst others."

On human capital development, the Governor said his administration has advanced the economic fortunes of many young people in the state through appointment of development facilitators, training of hundreds of youths under Gombe State Security, Traffic and Environmental Corps, GosTEC Programme, At Risk Children, provision of empowerment materials among others, all geared towards broadening human capital resources of the state.

"We recognise the important role women play in the socio-economic development of the society, hence we have carried them along and appointed a sizeable number of them in sensitive government positions in appreciation of their role as home makers and nation builders in addition to numerous empowerment packages targeted at them", the governor added. 

He further expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would win the forthcoming general elections at all levels. 

"I am optimistic that the party will continue to uphold the trust of the Nigerian people through continued provision of amenities that will improve the standard of living of a common man," he stated.
