Oyo: Arms, Ammunition Recovered Following Raid In Auxiliary'

Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have discovered a cache of arms and ammunition as it carried out a raid on the home of Mukaila Lamidi aka Auxiliary.

Auxiliary until Monday, May 29, 2023, was the Chairman of the Park Management System.

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde had sacked him via an official statement.

AllNews Nigeria learnt on Tuesday morning that reports suggesting that the police operation led to the recovery of various weapons and ammunition from his Ibadan residence.

While Auxiliary himself managed to evade arrest, some of his followers were not as lucky and were apprehended by the police.

In a related development, tension erupted in several parts of Ibadan, including Olodo, Iyana Church, Alakia, Isebo, and Iwo Road areas, on Tuesday following the proscription of the Disciplinary Committee of Oyo State Motor Park Management System, led by Mukaila Lamidi, commonly known as Auxiliary.

Sources noted that unidentified individuals launched violent attacks on commuters and some members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the early hours of Tuesday.

These attackers, firing shots indiscriminately, are believed to be associated with Auxiliary, who is reportedly currently on the run.
