Army operation commanders in the North East subregion of Nigeria have visited frontline troops in the Lake Chad region.
The commanders were Major General G.U Chibuisi of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) and Major General I.S Ali of the Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK).
Leutenant Colonel Kamarudeen Adegoke, spokesperson of the MNJTF, made this known in a statement on Saturday.
He said the commanders visited the troops in Sectors 3 and 4, taking part in the renewed onslaught on terrorists.
As reported the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), he explained that the renewed onslaught was codenamed Operation Harbin Kunama (Scorpion Sting).
“They were briefed on the on-going operation, including achievements and challenges,” Adegoke added.
He added that the MNJTF commander said the visit was to boost the morale of the troops and to appraise the conduct of the operation.
Also speaking, the OPHK Commander, expressed satisfaction at the bravery and zeal exhibited by the troops.
He further urged them to remain focused in dealing ruthlessly with the remnants of the terrorists in the Lake Chad Basin region.
