Arsenal Bottle Title Race Against Brighton

Arsenal have bottled their chances of winning the Premier League title after losing to Brighton on Sunday.

The Gunners were thrashed 3-0 by the Seagulls to leave leaders Manchester City one win from winning a fifth Premier League title.

Arsenal had opportunities to break the deadlock in the first 45 minutes but Leandro Trossard hit the crossbar while Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka went close.

They were later punished by being wasteful in front of goal when Julio Enciso headed in from close range to give Brighton the lead. 

The proceedings then went from bad to worse when substitute Deniz Undav doubled his side's lead after a sloppy play at the back from the Gunners.

Pervis Estupiñán then added to Arsenal's misery as he turned in a rebound for his first goal in English football in the 96th minute.

The result means that City need to beat Chelsea next Sunday to become champions, even if Arsenal defeat Nottingham Forest next Saturday.

Still, if the Gunners lose to Forest, City will be crowned champions before their kick-off with Chelsea at the Etihad.
