Arsenal Crash Out Of Europa League, United Sail Through

Arsenal were thrown out of the Europa League yesterday as Youssef El-Arabi's late strike in extra-time secured a mind-blowing 2-1 victory for Olympiacos to seal the Greek side's progression to the last 16 courtesy of the away goals rule.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed a golden chance in the final seconds to send the Gunners through after El Arabi's winner, after seemingly giving Arsenal the win with an acrobatic effort with seven minutes of extra-time remaining.

But Olympiacos, who cancelled out Arsenal's 1-0 lead from the first leg thanks to Pape Abou Cisse's header in the second half, arrived late to steal all three points after a poor Leno clearance as El-Arabi bundled in Giorgos Masouras' cross to send the 5000 traveling support into ecstasy.

Meanwhile, Odion Ighalo marked his full Manchester United debut with his first goal for the club as a glamorous Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side strolled into the last 16 of the Europa League with a 5-0 second-leg win against Belgian side, Club Brugge at Old Trafford.

The Nigerian striker replaced  the injured Anthony Martial and grabbed the second goal after a Bruno Fernandes penalty had put the Red Devils ahead after Club Brugge's defender Simon Deli, had been sent off for a deliberate handball.

Scott McTominay soon grabbed a third and Brazilian midfielder, Fred, scored a late brace to add more gloss to the scoreline.
