Arsenal Earn Draw At Anfield In Thriller Against Liverpool

The Premier League match between Arsenal and Liverpool ended in a 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday.

It was an electrifying clash as Liverpool fought back from two goals down to earn a share of the spoils.

Arsenal were in cruise control with a two-goal lead inside the first 45 minutes of action as they looked set to register their first win at Liverpool since 2012.

Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring as he pounced on sloppy Liverpool defending, putting the Gunners ahead after eight minutes before Gabriel Jesus rose unmarked between Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson to head home at the Kop End.

Mohamed Salah sparked the comeback for Liverpool, scoring at the far post to reduce the deficit just before the break.

The Egyptian was then presented with a beautiful opportunity to level the game from the spot in the second half but his shot went wide of goal.

With the penalty missed, Arsenal looked to be running away with the three points to move eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City but Liverpool's perseverance was rewarded three minutes from time when Firmino rose at the far post to head home Alexander-Arnold's.

While the Gunners were shocked by the leveller, Aaron Ramsdale produced two incredible stops from Salah and Ibrahima Konate to forestall stoppage-time winners.

The result means that Arsenal remain six points clear at the top of the Premier League and still have their fate in their hands, albeit City who they will face at the Etihad on April 26 have a game in hand.
