Arsenal Ease Past Crystal Palace, Extend Lead To Eight Point

Arsenal moved eight points clear at the summit of the Premier League table with a 4-1 win over Crystal Palace.

It was all too easy for the Gunners as they registered two goals each in both halves of the London derby.

Gabriel Martinelli put his side in front to calm the nerves of Arsenal supporters who were left disgruntled following their Europa League exit on Thursday.

Bukayo Saka doubled the lead with three minutes left on the clock in the first half to send the Gunners flying high into the break.

Granit Xhaka made it 3-nil some minutes after the break to give Arsenal a comfortable lead but Jeffery Schlupp scored from a corner kick to give Palace a lifeline.

The visitors pushed back for a second goal to turn the game on its head but Wilfried Zaha's shot went wide of the far post.

Arsenal snuffed out Palace's hopes as Kieran Tierney's neat pull-back to the penalty spot was hammered home by Bukayo Saka for his brace.

The result means that Arsenal are the first side in English Football League history to win as many as nine London derbies in a single league season.

They will next play Leeds United at the Emirates after the international break on April 1 and will hope to stay on course to win the league ahead of Manchester City who've a game in hand.
