An Arsenal fan has been arrested on suspicion of shining a laser pointer in Mykhailo Mudryk's face during Tuesday's Premier League clash with Chelsea.
The Met Police confirmed that the football fan who is 21 years old is in police custody.
Mudryk was constantly targeted by the supporter with a green laser every time he touched the ball after coming on as a second-half substitute in Chelsea's 3-1 loss at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal condemned the behaviour of the fan and noted that they will cooperate with the police in conducting their investigation.
A statement from the club on Wednesday reads: "An arrest has been made following the use of a laser during last night's match.
"This behaviour is dangerous and totally unacceptable and we will fully support the police with their enquiries.
"We will obviously take the strongest possible action."
Mudryk, who was a January transfer target for the Gunners after scoring 12 goals in 44 games for Shakhtar Donetsk, was also jeered by the home crowd during his substitute appearance because he decided to join rivals Chelsea despite interest from Arsenal.
