Arsenal, Man City set to battle for Guimaraes

Arsenal and Manchester City are reportedly locked in a transfer tussle for the signature of midfielder Bruno Guimaraes according to multiple sources on Wednesday.

The Brazilian has a $100m buyout clause in his contract at Newcastle United and according to a report by the Telegraph, the South American will speak with both sides in a bid to understanding their plans in the coming seasons.

The battle for a quality player between both clubs mirror the 2023 summer acquisition of Declan Rice who was wanted by City but ultimately chose to sign for the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta is beginning to be worried about the fitness of his Ghana star Thomas Partey and the future of Jorginho.

The summer tranfer window officially opens in Englan on July 1 although deals can be done before then.

City are set to release a number of their first team players who are already getting transfer attention from other clubs.
