Arsenal Star Balogun Joins Monaco On Five-Year Deal

Folarin Balogun has joined Monaco from Arsenal on a five-year deal.

Arsenal will receive £35 million for the 22-year-old United States forward of Nigerian heritage and have inserted a 17.5 per cent sell-on clause into the deal.

A statement on Arsenal's website reads: "We thank Folarin for his contribution to Arsenal, through our academy into the first team, and wish him the best of health and happiness in his new chapter at Monaco."

Balogun, who was linked with Chelsea, joined the Gunners at the age of 10 and signed professional terms with Arsenal at 17.

However, he made two top-flight appearances in his time with the club as he found himself behind Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard in the Arsenal forward pecking order.

The striker had loan spells at Middlesbrough and French outfit Reims, where he scored 22 goals in Ligue 1 last season.
