Arteta Confident Of Positive Reaction From Arsenal Against Southampton

Mikel Arteta is confident Arsenal will return to winning ways when they face Southampton at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night.

The Gunners are without a win in their last two league games following their recent wobble in the title race.

They squandered a two-goal advantage as they drew 2-2 at Liverpool and equally did the same at West Ham United last Sunday.

However, previewing Friday's game against the Saints, Arteta insisted that his side will seal victory in tomorrow's game as they push to end the club's 19-year wait for a Premier League title.

"Very confident. Twists and turns are part of anything you do in football, whatever the aim is," he said.

"It's not always going to be a linear progression. 

"You have to know that and be prepared. 

"The way the team have reacted is incredibly positive and we want to see that tomorrow night."

While reiterating that his players are ready to trade tackles with Southampton, the Spaniard charged the home fans to be behind Arsenal at the Emirates so as to create an "electric" atmosphere that will intimidate the visitors who he reckons are doing "really good" under Ruben Selles.

"My players today are really looking forward to tomorrow, to get the game we want and the result we want, playing in front of our crowd again," he added.

"We have seven games left. We have four games left at the Emirates, which is, for them, a big thing, and we are looking forward to it."

"Friday night, it has to be electric. I want that crowd playing every single ball with our team and being no different to what we have experienced - a  full capacity, energy-wise, and everyone is very positive pushing the team."
