Arteta, Kane, Alonso, Yamal win big at Globe Soccer Awards

The gala ceremony for the 2023/2024 Globe Soccer Awards for players, coaches and European football clubs were held on Tuesday night in Sardinia, Italy with the likes of Mikel Arteta, Xabi Alonso, Harry Kane and Lamine Yamal recognised by the organisers for the wonderful seasons they had indivisually, reports Allnews.ng.

The prize for the best European club went the way of Manchester City as they defended and won the Premier League title thereby emerging the first English side to win the league title in four consecutive seasons.

Arsenal Manager, Mikel Arteta scooped the Best Premier League Coach award while fellow Spaniard and coach of German domestic champions Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi Alonso was deservedly handed the Best Manager award in Europe after his team went throughout the season unbeaten in all competitions in Germany and only lost to Atalanta in the final of the Europa League for a litle blot on an otherwise unblemished performance. 

Harry Kane broke all manner of goal scoring records in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich and was the topscorer in the German topflight in his first season abroad. 

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker scored 36 league goals in 32 matches which he sarted in all of them. The England captain had eight asissts and had 140 shots on target. 

Barcelona youngster, Lamine Yamal, who was named in Spain's Euro 2024 squad this week, won the Emerging Player feat given to the young player that has shown the biggest promise in the period under review.
