Aston Villa Sack Gerard After 3-0 Loss To Fulham

Steven Gerrard

Aston Villa have dismissed Steven Gerrard from the club following a humiliating 3-0 loss to Fulham on Thursday.

Villa have not won a match in October with their last win 1-0 against Southampton in September.

They have gone 4 consecutive games without a win and they sit 17th on the table levelled on 9 points with Wolverhampton Wanderers, 1 point ahead of Leicester City 3 points ahead of Nottingham Forest.

After the loss, Gerard refused to resign but the club has taken a decisive action as they sack the former Rangers coach.

Aston Villa spokesman said: “We would like to thank Steven for his hard work and commitment and wish him well for the future.”

Since Gerard's managerial career, he has won the Scottish league with Rangers before returning back to England to coach Aston Villa.

He is one day tipped to coach Liverpool.
