ASUU: FG, Union To Meet Again On Monday

After the closed-door meeting with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Tuesday, the Federal Government is set to meet the union for further discussion on Monday, February 28.

Speaking on the outcome of the meeting, Chris Nigige, the Minister of Labour and Employment, said that having agreed on UTAS, a major issue noted by ASUU, a joint test will be done by the National Information Technology Development Agency, (NITDA) and the union to encourage the homegrown system.

The minister further urged the union to communicate with its members and call off the strike before the one month that was fixed, assuring that the Federal Government will get back to them before Monday.

He revealed that the government would meet with the union on Monday for further discussion.
