ASUU: Ibadan Joins NLC Protest Against Prolonged Strike

Workers in Ibadan, Oyo State have joined the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) solidarity protest against the prolonged strike by members of the Academic Staf Union of University (ASUU).

The protesters were seen around the Agodi Gate of the Ibadan North Local Government as they marched through the street determined to drive home their point.

The Oyo State Council of the union is taking advantage of the protest to address other issues facing the country.

The protesters were joined by members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) who were seen carrying a banner bearing their demands.

Members of NLC were also seen holding banners and placards showing their affiliation with the education sector.

Today is the first day of the two-day protest organised by the Nigeria Labour Congress. The action is scheduled to continue tomorrow, Wednesday.

AllNews Nigeria reports that the protest is also ongoing in Ikeja, the state capital of Lagos.
