ASUU: NANS Urges State Varsities To Emulate Governor Sanwo-Olu, Back Out Of Strike

ASUU: NANS Urges State Varsities To Emulate Governor Sanwo-O

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has urged governors of all states in Nigeria to emulate Governor Sanwo-Olu and allow state-owned universities to back out of the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike.

Lagos State University, Ojoo had refused to join the ongoing ASUU strike which began with a two-week warning strike on February 14, 2022.

The Coordinator of the Southwest zone of NANS, Tegbe Stephen said this while speaking with pressmen in Lagos.

“We charge other State Governors to emulate Mr. Babajide Sanwo Olu in his bid to make education a right and not a privilege for the students.

“With what Mr. Sanwo-Olu has done, undoubtedly, we shall remain indebted forever.

"However, Southwest Students admonish Federal Government and ASUU to come back to the negotiation table and proffer an everlasting solution as students are tired of this age-long industrial action.

“At the end of everything, lecturers get paid and political leaders receive their pay! What’s now the gain of the students? It’s so disheartening that we are always at the receiving end," Tegbe admonished.
