ASUU Strike: FUTA To Resume, Commence Lectures October 23, 24

Students of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) are to resume on Sunday, October 23 as lectures commence on Monday, October 24.

This comes after the Senate of the university approved a reviewed academic calendar to resume the 2020/2021 academic session.

The resumption is contained in a statement by the university's registrar, Richard Arifalo, on Thursday in Akure.

According to the statement, students are to return to campus on Sunday to complete the first semester which was interrupted by the strike by the lectures under the aegis of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

It added that the approval was given at a special meeting held by the university's Senate on Wednesday.

The statement further wished the students a safe journey back to school.
