ASUU Strike Has Not Been Suspended — Union President

ASUU Strike Has Not Been Suspended — Union President

The National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Emmanuel Osodeke, has stated that the ongoing industrial action has not been suspended.

Osodeke's update comes on the heels of the assurance from popular lawyer and human rights activist Femi Falana that the strike would be called off soon.

Reports on social media have been suggesting that the industrial action has been suggested and commenting via a short reply to Premium Times, Osodeke stated that the union had done no such thing.

According to the news outlet, Osodeke called the reports "fake".

A source further disclosed that there will be briefings at the various zones of the union and a subsequent meeting by the branches between Wednesday and Thursday

It was also revealed that the National Executive Council of the union will then meet to decide on the suspension of the strike.
