ASUU Strike: Plateau Varsity VC Sends Message To Students

Plateau Varsity VC Sends Message To Students

The Vice Chancellor of the Plateau State University, Bokkos, Prof. Yohana Izam, has called on the students of the institution to be peaceful at all times.

He made the call in a press statement he issued on Monday in Jos.

Izam was reacting to the protest organised by the students over the prolonged strike by the academic and non- academic staff of the university.

“While the management regrets the negative impact of the closure of the institution on the academic calendar, it wishes to request that the students of the institution should remain peaceful in their agitations,” he advised.

The vice chancellor said that the management acknowledged the ongoing efforts of the Governing Council of the university and the support of the state government toward addressing the issues.

He prayed that the Federal Government would ensure quick resolution of all pending issues with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to ensure the resumption of academic activities in public universities.
