The Senate of the University of Ibadan (UI) has announced the resumption of academic activities at the institution on Monday, October 24.
The confirmation was made in a statement by the university's registrar and secretary to the council, Olubunmi Faluyi, on Wednesday in Ibadan.
According to the statement, the Senate of UNIBADAN approved October 24 as the resumption date for the continuation of the 2021/2022 academic session at a special meeting held on October 17.
“Consequently, Halls of Residence would be opened from Oct.23, 2022.
“On behalf of the Council and Senate of the University, we wish our students journey mercies as they return to the campus,” the statement read.
UI's resumption comes after ASUU suspended its eight-month strike last Friday and ordered its members to resume work immediately.
