Students of the University of Benin, Edo State on Wednesday marched out in their numbers to protest the lingering Academic Staff Union of universities (ASUU) strike.
AllNews Nigeria reported that the students protested around the University of Ibadan, Oyo State to seek the reopening of closed universities across the country due to the strike.
The UNIBEN Students who protested threatened to take lectures on the street, which they called University of Streets (UNISTREET) as long as the schools remained closed.
The protesting students held a banner which had captions including #they are killing our dreams, #they are suffocating our dreams, #we need our lives back, and 80 days and still counting.
The ongoing industrial action by ASUU has lasted over eighty days, leaving government-owned tertiary institutions closed.
