Atiku Appeals For Swift Release Of Adamawa Guber Election Results

Atiku Appeals For Swift Release Of Adamawa Guber Election Re

Nigeria's former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, has appealed for the swift release of the Adamawa State guber election results by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Atiku made the call on Monday afternoon during a press conference in Yola, the state capital.

He appealed to Nigerians and international communities to mount pressure on the INEC to announce the results.

While noting that the inability to release the results early has cause serious tension in the state, he said, "We don't know any violence and yet the attitude of INEC in the state least much to be desired."

The former vice president explained that the state is a multi-ethnic and multi-religious state which the actions by INEC is trying to distabilise.

"We thought that the processes are improving by every election but unfortunately with this election, we have not seen improvement that we expect from INEC," he said.
