Attack On Amuludun FM: Police Arrest Yoruba Nation Agitators

The General Manager of Radio Nigeria, Amuludun 99.1FM, Stephen Agbaje has confirmed the arrest of five suspected youths who attacked the radio station.

The radio station located in Akinyele local government area of Oyo State was suddenly attacked by youths suspected to be members of the Yoruba Nation agitators on Sunday morning.

For the period of the attack, the radio station, Amuludun 99.1FM was reportedly hijacked according to information available to AllNews Nigeria.

 

 

The radio station, owned by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), according to reports, was hijacked around 6 am on Sunday.

The suspects invaded the station with various forms of charms and the alleged agitators took over the station and broadcast live.

Among their claims included; “Oodua Nation has come to stay”, “Yoruba no more under Federal Republic of Nigeria”, “United Nation will soon declare Oodua Nation” among others.

"Some group of agitators came around in the night, and took over the station, but the situation has been brought under control by the security agents.

"They were able to recover the station, and some arrests have been made," Agbaje said.

The Oyo State Police Command is yet to comment on the development.

AllNews Nigeria had earlier reported that aggrieved youths attacked the radio station on Sunday morning.

During the attack, security personnel detailed to the station repelled the attack.
