Attempted Assassination: Osun House of Reps Member Slammed W

A House of Representatives member for Ifelodun, Boripe, Odo-Otin Federal Constituency of Osun State, Rasheed Olalekan Afolabi has been slammed with a N500 million lawsuit.

The N500 million law suit was brought against the federal legislator by an Osun All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Moshood Adekunle Oluawo.

The plaintiff, Oluawo in the suit with number; HOS/33/2022 is urging the court to award against Afolabi, the sum of five hundred million naira and a written apology to be filed in a national daily.

Afolabi had alleged that Oluawo had attempted to assassinate him.

The allegation has been filed with the Department of the Department of State Security (DSS).

Afolabi had in October 2021 wrote a petition to the DSS alleging that some hoodlums attempted to assassinate him in Lokoja, Kogi State on his way to Abuja and that the Oluawo was his principal suspect.

The DSS having carried out an investigation, discovered that there was no merit in the petition to warrant holding the Oluawo culpable in the allegations.

Consequently, Oluawo had filed the suit to seek remedies against Afolabi's allegations.

Similarly, Hon.Justice A. A. G. Onibokun had on May 11, 2022 granted the Oluawo leave to paste the process on the campaign office of the lawmaker in Ikirun and same was executed on May 13, 2022.
