Aubameyang To Seal Move To Marseille On Free Transfer

Aubameyang To Seal Move To Marseille On Free Transfer

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to join Marseille on a free transfer from Chelsea, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports.

The Gabon international is expected to sign a three-year contract with the Ligue 1 club, who reached an agreement with Chelsea for the former Arsenal striker.

He will undergo his medical on Thursday and is likely to be announced as a Marseille player later this week.

Romano tweeted: "Pierre Aubameyang has agreed to join Olympique Marseille, here we go!

"Auba will sign a three-year deal, as called two days ago — until June 2026.

"Chelsea will let him leave for free, told Auba will arrive tonight @ OM camp then  medical tests on Thursday."

Aubameyang joined the Blues in 2022 but failed to live up to expectations at Stamford Bridge.

The striker endured a turbulent spell last season, mustering three goals in 21 appearances and starting only 11 matches.

His departure will make him the 13th player to leave the Bridge permanently as the Blues are reducing the size of their squad this summer.

He has previous experience in Ligue 1, playing 120 times in the competition for Saint-Etienne, Dijon, Lille as well as Monaco and scoring 41 goals across those games.
