Australia: Man dies saving woman from oncoming train

In a tragic turn of events, a young man jumped onto railway tracks to save a woman from an oncoming freight train, resulting in both of their deaths.

The incident occurred at Berowra Railway Station in the northern part of the city, amidst an argument between the man, aged 25, and a woman in her 30s, during the midnight hours of Friday.

Eyewitnesses report that amidst a heated exchange, the man allegedly threw one of the woman's belongings, believed to be a phone, onto the tracks. Reacting swiftly, she ventured down to retrieve it.

However, as the sound of an approaching freight train filled the station, the man, without hesitation, leaped down to rescue her, leading to a tragic collision that claimed both their lives.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, but tragically, both individuals succumbed to their injuries.

Officers from Kuring Gai Police Area Command established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
