Australia: Woman hospitalised after attack by tiger at amuse

A woman has been hospitalized after being mauled by a tiger while working at Dreamworld, Australia’s largest amusement park, according to local media reports on Monday.

The Australian news agency AAP reported that the woman, a trained animal handler, sustained injuries to her arm and was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

“Dreamworld acknowledges an incident that occurred involving one of the park’s tigers and a trained tiger handler,” a theme park spokesperson told AAP.

“This was an isolated and rare incident, and we will conduct a thorough review accordingly.”

Dreamworld, on the Gold Coast in the Australian state of Queensland, is home to nine Sumatran and Bengal tigers.
