The official title for the sequel to James Cameron's sci-fi epic Avatar has been revealed, with a trailer set to arrive in cinemas next week.
Thirteen years after the original blew movie fans away, Cameron is set to dazzle again as the title of the follow-up has been revealed to be Avatar: The Way of Water.
Lead stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana reprise their roles as Jake and Neytiri and the film will arrive in cinemas on December 22, 2022.
The title of the sequel was revealed at the 2022 CinemaCon in Las Vegas and the plot will focus on Jake, Neytiri, and their family (kids Neteyam, Lo’ak, and Tuktirey).
Avatar: The Way of Water is the first of three planned sequels and Variety reports that spectators at CinemaCon were given 3D glasses to watch the film's first official trailer.
According to the report, the trailer contains almost no dialogue, and viewers were immersed in different regions across the magical and enticing world of Pandora.
The trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water will be released in cinemas ahead of Marvel's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on May 6, 2022.
