Aviation: Workers Suspend Strike Action, Salary Negotiation

Aviation workers in the country have suspended the industrial action that grounded international flights at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Monday morning.

Latest reports reveal that things have returned to normal at the airport after workers under the umbrella of the National Union of Air Transport Employees and Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria and Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria suspended operations over non-payment of salaries.

The suspension of the strike was disclosed by ATSSSAN Deputy General Secretary, Frances Akinjole in a chat with Vanguard.

He also revealed that the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc is set to begin negotiations on the salary issue.

“The strike action has been suspended and the management of Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc, NACHo have agreed to commence negotiation on the salary issue with us”, Akinjole stated.
