Kwara State Government has disclosed that the closure of the Tanke Tipper Garage Junction has been extended to the end of March.
This is in continuation of the ongoing construction of the General Tunde Idiagbon Bridge in the axis.
The Kwara State Government commended members of the public for their patience and understanding as the administration of Governor AbdulRazaq AbdulRahman continues to prioritise infrastructural development and improve the socio – the economic well-being of the citizens, in line with its “Isenlo”.
While Road Construction/ Rehabilitation works are ongoing throughout the State, Traffic management personnel have been deployed along the affected routes to minimise traffic impediments during the closure.
The Kwara State Government meanwhile said it has mapped out alternative routes to ease traffic congestion as a result of the bridge project.
The alternative routes include Agbabiaka road through Tanke Danialu Road; Eastern Reservoir road through Pipeline road through Awolowo road; J.S Adeoti road; Mohammed Raji road; Tanke Iledu Road Tanke; Taoheed road through Pipeline (F-Division) road to Olufunmilayo Street; Abuja Street through Akorede Street; and Rex Bello Street, Tanke.
The Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engineer Suleiman Rotimi Iliasu appealed to residents and road users to be patient and regrets the inconveniences the ongoing projects may cause.
