Babayemi Is An APC Agent, Says Odeyemi

Diran Odeyemi

A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Diran Odeyemi, has alleged that Dotun Babayemi is an agent of the All Progressives Congress (APC) planted to wreck PDP.

Odeyemi, who disclosed this in a statement obtained by AllNews Nigeria in Osogbo, also rejected Babayemi’s congratulatory message to Osun governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke and the PDP in the aftermath of the Supreme Court affirming Adeleke as the Osun PDP gubernatorial candidate.

The Supreme Court had dismissed the case instituted by Babayemi against Adeleke’s candidature in the Osun 2022 gubernatorial election.

Odeyemi who warned other political parties in Osun against welcoming Babayemi into their fold also described him as a political dealer who was too desperate and self-centred.

“Dotun Babayemi’s congratulatory message is an afterthought and one that cannot be accepted after taking the party and the governor-elect of Osun, Ademola Adeleke to the Supreme Court where he lost out.

"I’m advising all political parties in Osun not to welcome Babayemi into their fold. He plotted to come back and wreck PDP but the plot failed and he has been expelled.

"There was a collaboration between APC and Babayemi to thwart the electoral mandate that Osun people had given to Sen Ademola Adeleke. Babayemi was a sponsored agent of the APC. He is a political dealer.”

Commenting on the pending matter before the Osun Election Petition Tribunal, Odeyemi noted that the Supreme Court victory in the Babayemi/Adeleke case was a signal to the APC.

"The ruling party should expect a similar outcome in its case against Adeleke’s victory at the Election Petition tribunal.

“This should be a signal to the APC. Although, we anticipate that they will also drag their case up to the Supreme Court.

"The failure of Babayemi to stop God’s will should also be expected by them,” Odeyemi concluded.
