The UK police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found next to her malnourished one-year-old baby.
The deceased, Mercy Baguma, a Ugandan national was found in her flat in Glasgow on August 22 after neighbours heard the cries of her baby.
A spokesperson for the police said that the cause of her death was yet to be ascertained, although, the circumstances surrounding her death was tagged 'unexplained'.
Baguma had entered the UK and claimed asylum, living in "extreme poverty", according to Positive Action in Housing, a refugee charity programme.

It also stated that Baguma's right to work in the UK expired causing her to lose her job.
Director of the charity programme, Robina Qureshi, said that Baguma's son was found next to her body, crying and “weakened from several days of starvation”.
The baby was been taken to a hospital for a check-up and was discharged on Monday, reunited with his father.
