Nigerian singer and winner of Headies rookie of the year, Timilehin Olorunyomi, popularly known as Bad Boy Timz, has publicly slammed a 200 million naira lawsuit against his former record label, Anonymous Music, for libelous publication.
Recall that the singer was accused of fraud by his former label and then arrested last week. Following his arrest, a video that showed the artiste in handcuffs was released on May 18 and it was alleged that he was arrested for terminating his contract with the record label and defrauding them.
Bad Boy Timz had remained in police custody until Davido secured his release by paying for his bail.
Taking to his social media, the singer thanked Davido for securing his release and further revealed via a statement through his legal team that he was suing Anonymous music for defamation of character and charging damages to the tune of 200 million naira.
Bad Boy Timz, who is popular for his single 'MJ (Michael Jackson)' which featured Mayorkun and Teni Apata in the remix, was born on August 13, 1996.

He started making covers of popular Nigerian songs while in the University. He, however, had a boost in his career after his cover for Davido's 'If' went viral on his Instagram.
Timz went on to release his first single 'Complete Me' alongside the music video. In 2019, he got signed to the Anonymous Record label where he released his first EP 'Timz EP' the same year.
He has collaborated with big shots in the Nigerian music industry including Olamide, Zlatan Ibile, Teni Apata, and Barry Jhay.
The singer clinched his first Headies Award as the ‘2021 Rookie of The Year’. The artiste was nominated alongside Olakira, Jamopyper, Alpha P, and Zinoleesky.
