Bad Roads In Minna: What Bello Told Ministry Of Works To Do

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello

The Governor of Niger State, Abubakar Sani Bello has directed the Ministry of Works and Infrastructural Development to fix roads in the state affected by rain.

The governor issued the directive while inspecting Minna-Boso-Maikunkele Road and the Minna Western Bypass.

The roads were among those eroded by rain.

He further stated that the Ministry should ensure speedy completion of the repairs to avoid the total collapse of the roads.

He also added that the repair will ensure that the roads are accident-free.

In a statement signed by Mary Noel-Berje, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor,

"The Governor who observed that most parts of the roads being washed away were largely due to lack of drains for water to flow freely, added that the maintenance work will prevent further damage on the roads."

He further stated that "a permanent solution would be provided when the rains are over."

The governor noted that the Ministry must ensure quality work for the benefit of people.

"Top government officials were present during the inspection", read the statement.
