Badaru Begins Drilling Of Boreholes For Fulani Communities

The Jigawa State Governor, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, has begun drilling of boreholes for Fulani communities in the state. 

This was disclosed on Sunday by the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Umar Kabiru Dubantu, in a radio program with the Radio Jigawa, 'Fitila'.

He added that the governor has promised to provide hand pumps for domestic use of the Fulani people.

While noting the various projects executed for them by the governor, he explained that 370 classrooms were constructed at various nomadic schools and 270 Islamic centers for the nomads.

Dubantu said the association has documented 115 Fulani NCE and degree holders while 100 others hold qualifications in Health. 

In related development, the state government is also undertaking water projects worth 25 million naira at Yankwashi and Karkarna towns.

The chairman of Yankwashi Local Government Area, Mubarak Ahmed Achilafiya made this known on Sunday. 

He said the projects include provision of two water generating sets and reticulation.

The chairman added that the council has repaired 52 solar water collection points as well as water generating sets across the area.

Achilafia added that 87 hand pumps were drilled in the last one year while the council and RUWASA will soon convert Firji and Gwarta Babba water generating sets to solar powered system.
