The Governor of Jigawa State, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar has expressed sadness over the demise of the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi.
The governor sent his condolences to the Dutse Emirate and the people of Jigawa state.
The governor described the late Emir as a "True leader and a respected figure in the community, known for his wisdom, compassion, and dedication to the well-being of his people."
This was contained in a statement signed by the State's Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal D. Sankara on Tuesday.
According to Sankara, the governor recognized the numerous contributions given by the late Emir to the development of Dutse and its environs.
He noted that the Emir's legacy would continue to live on through the lives he touched.
The governor prayed for the deceased and his family and loved ones during the difficult time.
"May the soul of the late Emir rest in peace and may the memories of his life bring comfort and solace to those he leaves behind," the statement added.
"The passing of the Emir of Dutse has been met with sadness and mourning in the community and across the state," he stressed.
In a statement signed and issued by the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Public Relations, Habibu Nuhu Kila, the governor described the death as 'great national loss'.
The full statement reads: "Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State has received with immense sadness and deep feeling of a great national loss, the news of the death of the Emir of Dutse Dr. Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi.
"He described late Emir as humble, religious and community leader whose conduct and character in life has been to the service of humanity.
"He said the death of the Emir has created a vacuum difficult to be filled considering his contributions to peace, stability and progress in his domain and the country.
"He prayed Allah in His infinite mercy to grant his soul Aljannah Firdausi and called on the entire people of the Emirate to bear the loss with the spirit of acquiescence to God’s will."
