Bagudu Approves Over N1 Billion For Payment Of Gratuity

The Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has approved over N1 billion for the payment of gratuity in the state.

The gesture was in his effort to settle all outstanding workers' gratuity across the state.

The total amount released by the governor to settle the retired civil servants was N1,509,619,527.

The governor's approval was conveyed by the Acting Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena in a statement on Thursday. 

According to Bena, the payment would cover for the retirees from state and local governments.

As contained in a statement signed by Yahaya Sarki, Spokesperson to the governor, others who would benefit from the payment included Local Government Education Authorities (LGEAs) including contract staff from October to December 2022.

"The Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, CON has in continuation of his administration's effort to settle all outstanding workers' gratuity graciously approved the release of One Billion, Five Hundred and Nine Million, Six Hundred and Nineteen Thousand, Five Hundred and Twenty - Seven Naira, Seventeen Kobo (N1,509,619,527.17) for payment of gratuity to retired civil servants," the statement reads partly.
