Bagudu Attends Funeral, Commiserates With Malam Over Sister'

The Governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, has attended the funeral prayer of Hajiya Fatima Abubakar, the elder sister to Alhaji Abubakar Gari Malam, the Deputy Director-General, APC Campaign Council in the state.

Late Hajiya Fatima died on Friday night after a protracted illness at the Federal Medical Center, Birnin Kebbi.

Bagudu who joined hundreds of mourners in the funeral prayer of the deceased at Wala Jumuat Mosque, commiserated with Malam and his family over the loss.

Bagudu prayed to Allah to forgive the deceased and grant her Aljannah Firdausi.

He also prayed Allah to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss. 

The deceased died at the age of 72, leaving behind six children and her husband, Alhaji Abubakar Nadaniya, former chairman of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area. 

As contained in a statement on Saturday by Yahaya Sarki, spokesperson to the governor, the governor also attended the funeral prayer of Hajiya Zainabu Abu Altine Ladan, alongside hundreds of mourners. 

"The deceased, aged 71, died of a protracted illness in Birnin Kebbi.

"She is survived by five children and has been buried according to Islamic rites," Sarki stated.
