Presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Tunde Bakare has promised to bring economic growth to the country if elected.
Bakare who was the running mate of president Muhammadu Buhari in 2011 election said he would raise Nigeria's GDP to $1.5 trillion if the chance is given to him to be the president.
He made this known on Monday in Abuja while announcing his candidature under the APC.
"I am formally announcing that I am running for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“We will rebuild Nigeria’s economy around six competitive geo-economic zones, triple Nigeria’s GDP to $1.5 trillion by 2030 and industrialise Nigeria around the hub-and-spoke model of industrialisation", he stated.
Bakare had last week picked his N100 million nomination forms ahead of the party's primary election at the of the month.
Bakare added that while focusing on the economy, his administration would work towards achieving peace, progress, and unity amongst others.
