Bala Hosts UNICEF Country Director, Pledges Continuous Partn

The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed has hosted the Country Director of United Children's Fund (UNICEF), Cristian Munduate in the state. 

The governor pledged to sustain the partnership with the UNICEF to improve the living condition of children. 

Speaking during the visit, the Country Director, Munduate said the UNICEF has mapped out plans to support Primary Healthcare activities in the state.

She added that the UNICEF was also working towards supporting girl child education to address numerous challenges of out-of-school children in the state.

She noted that with a five-year plan, the UNICEF would also touch on water hygiene to improve healthcare delivery.

She stressed that achieving such plans would only be possible with the support of the federal and state governments.

She further commended governor Bala for his various interventions in health, education and provision of water across the state.

She added that the UNICEF would continue to partner with the state in the areas. 

The governor expressed his appreciation and satisfaction over the support enjoyed by the state from the UNICEF and other partners in the development of the state's critical sectors. 

He disclosed that his administration has over the years leveraged on the various intervention of the UNICEF and other partners to address challenges in health and education. 

The governor assured that his administration would continue to promptly pay counterpart funds to sustain the partnership.
