Bala Sympathizes With Azare, Zaki Over Attacks On POS Operat

The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed has sympathized with POS Operators who were attacked by armed robbers in Azare in Katagum and Zaki Local Government Areas. 

The governor reiterated his commitment to strengthen the security of lives and properties of the people in the state.

He added that his administration has collaborated with security agencies and traditional rulers to safeguard the people. 

The governor made this known when he visited the victims of the attack in Azare and Zaki.  

While interacting with the Emir of Katagum and the families of the victims in their respective areas, the governor appreciated the Emir for his timely intervention.

He further called on him not to relent in supporting the state government in the maintenance of peace and security. 

The governor also pledged to support the victims with relief materials to cushion the effect of losses and damages they incurred.

He called on security agencies to intensify efforts in the discharge of their assigned responsibilities effectively. 

"The shooting incident in Zaki local government in Katagum area, which is end of the state which was caused to our understanding not by terrorists, but for economic reasons and that is what we have come here to assure you and the Emirate that the state is conscious and passionate on security, but please accept our condolences and sympathy because the incidents has cause a lot distress to the people of Katagum. 

"Bauchi state government is ready to ensure safety of lives and properties in the state and we will also double our efforts to ensure that those that are far away from the state capital are given special consideration. 

"I am here with the security commanders to assure you that Bauchi will be safe and secured and we are going to make sure that we lend more support to the security agencies here so that they can do their jobs."

As contained in a statement by the New Media aide to the governor, Lawal Muazu Bauchi on Monday, the Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Aminu Alhassan said the police and other security agencies are working to apprehend the suspects to face the law. 

Also speaking, the Emir of Katagum, Umar Farouk Umar commended Governor Bala for his prompt response and assured him of his continuous support to secure the people and their properties.
