Mobile policemen and armed soldiers have taken over the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Lagos in preparation for the protest over the gruesome murder of Bamise Ayanwola.
Bamise's untimely demise has sparked outrage on social media and The Nation reports that there is heavy security presence in the aforementioned venue on Tuesday, February 8.
According to the news outlet, some fliers were shared on Twitter and angry youths vowed to storm the secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, and all BRT terminals in Lagos State.
Citizens are demanding justice for the late 22-year-old and have called for the prosecution of those involved in her murder.
Apart from the soldiers and policemen stationed at strategic locations at the venue of the protest, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) were also seen at the place.
As of the time of writing this, protesters were yet to be seen, and vehicular movement and business activities continued unhindered.
