Banditry Forces Katsina To Close Down Over 60 Clinics

The Katsina state government have closed down 69 clinics in the state over banditry. 

This was disclosed on Tuesday by the Executive Secretary of the Katsina state Primary Health Care Agency (KSPHA), Dr Shamsuddeen Yahaya. 

Yahaya who spoke to newsmen revealed that two of the clinics located at Batsari local government area were completely burnt by bandits. 

He further lamented how bandits have taken over most of the clinics in the area. 

“The solar refrigerators provided in such facilities have been converted to use by the bandits.”

He noted that health workers have been applying for redeployment and that some have already been captured by the bandits.

He also revealed that the Katsina State government is working towards renovating 361 dilapidated clinics across the state. 

He further reiterated the state government's commitment towards ensuring completion of the rehabilitation of health centres in the state.
