Banditry: In-Law Of Senator Representing Buhari’s District

Bandits have abducted four persons including Senator Ahmed Babba Kaita's sister in-law in Kankia, Katsina State.

Kaita is the senator representing President Muhammadu Buhari's district, Katsina North at the National Assembly.

According to sources, the bandits attacked in the early hours of Monday and kept the community hostage for hours.

A source identified as Muhammad Sani was reported to have revealed that the attackers invaded a neighbourhood known as Bakin Kasuwa where they abducted the wife to the senator's brother.

The bandits also abducted two children including a primary school girl.

Another resident identified as Salisu Musa who spoke to Daily Trust said, “They actually came for the Senator’s younger brother, but he sneaked out of the house.

"One of his wives was also able to escape but the victim, Farida, saw that her children were there.

"She could not abandon them to escape, that is how they got her.

“As for the other victim, her husband was not at home when they came, so as she wanted to escape they beat her up and kidnapped two of the children.

"In all, they abducted two house wives and two others including a little girl."

The community which is located along the Kano-Katsina road had recorded a series of bandits attacks in the past

While all efforts made to reach the spokesperson of the Katsina state police command, SP Gambo Isah proved abortive, the command is yet to give a formal statement.
