Bandits have attacked intending pilgrims who were enroute to Sokoto from Isa Local Government Area of the state.

The pilgrims were said to be preparing for their take off today (Tuesday) at 7:30 am.

The attack which took place yesterday along Gundumi forest was foiled by the security escorts attached to the convoy of the pilgrims.

“They attacked their convoy, which was being escorted by security operatives who were said to have engaged the bandits for some minutes.

“We learned that some of the operatives sustained injuries, which I cannot verify."
