Bandits Attack Another Niger Community

Another community in Niger State, Gurmana Ward in Shiroro Local Government Area has been attacked by armed bandits on Saturday evening.

It was learnt that over 15 persons were suspected to have drowned in River Kaduna in their attempt to escape from the bandits.

According to a source who preferred to be anonymous, the bandits were armed with sophisticated weapons. They shot freely when they entered the community.

The source added that the people ran toward the river, but many of them drowned in their attempt to escape the attack.  

“Right now, we don’t know how many drowned. we are suspecting the bandits are still around. We cannot confirm the number of casualties now.”

The Co-convener, Concerned Shiroro Youths, Sani Abubakar Kokki, when contacted said the bandits attacked the community with heavy sophisticated weapons.

He added that the bandits shot many times into the air during the attack, saying that there were many casualties but there is no certainty as to the number of affected persons at the moment.
