Bandits Attack Motorists In Abia

Bandits suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Thursday opened fire on motorists at Lomara in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.

This is happening just a few days after armed herdsmen blocked the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway at Leru/Ihube Okigwe axis, between Abia and Imo border

It was reported that all occupants of three buses were allegedly abducted by the bandits on Saturday.

In yesterday's attack, a woman was captured in a viral video jubilating around a car riddled with bullets while another man stood beside her apparently in shock at their experience and miraculous escape.

Villagers also gathered around the vicinity raining curses on the daredevil bandits who were said to be operating in the area.

It is not yet clear if there were any casualties in the attack but part of the windscreen of the black Jeep was shattered and glasses were seen on the floor of the vehicle.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in Abia Geoffrey Ogbonna, said he was not yet aware of the latest attack.
